The Wood Stars
Please take some time to have a read through. By booking you are agreeing to the terms and conditions listed here. You are also responsible for passing on this information to all in your party.
Booking and payments
There are three ways to book:

The simplest way to instantly secure the dates for your holiday is through our bookings page.
We will confirm your booking once we receive a deposit of 50% (when your check-in date is over 4 weeks away) or full payment (when your check-in date is less than 4 weeks away).
We will do our best to get back to all emails within 24 hours. Please also check your junk mail for our replies.
Booking confirmation is sent out upon receipt of deposit or full payment. Please take a few moments to make sure all the information is correct and contact us if anything needs amending.
The remaining balance for your stay is automatically taken 4 weeks before your stay from the original card used for the booking.
If you need to add any extras to your booking or change the payment method, please let us know beforehand.
If the automated balance payment is unsuccessful, we will contact you to arrange an alternative payment method. Please note we may have to cancel your booking if the issue cannot be resolved.
Pets
No pets except assistance dogs we’re sorry.
Smoking
All buildings are smoke free. You are welcome to use the outdoor areas for smoking or vaping.
Noise and privacy
Please respect other guests and neighbours as sound can really travel here.
Keep the music volume low as many guests come to enjoy the undisturbed sounds of nature.
We reserve the right to ask you to leave with immediate effect if you do not comply with these requests. In this event, you will not be eligible for any refund.
Maximum Numbers
The Moon Cocoon sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 children.
If you are a larger family and would like to bring a tent for extra space please contact us.
The maximum number of persons in the Moon Cocoon is up to 2 adults and 2 children, unless arranged prior to booking.
Special Requests
We will always try to be as accommodating as possible to any special requests such as additional bedding etc. Please contact us as soon as possible after booking to make any arrangements and we will try to fulfil all requests although cannot guarantee all will be possible.
Group Bookings
The Wood Stars is based on a quiet working organic farm and cannot accept hen and stag or similar parties.
We regret that if such a booking is made we will cancel it according to our cancellation policy.
Your responsibilities
We want you to have a fun and relaxing stay so please let us know if there’s anything you need or can’t find.
Breakages and accidental damage do occasionally happen. Please let us know so that we can replace items or make any necessary repairs.
We ask our guests to respect the peaceful nature of the site as sound and noise can travel far.
Please park in the designated car park and don’t drive over the hay meadow to reach your accommodation.
To ensure all guests have an enjoyable stay we cannot accept inappropriate, improper or illegal activity. In this event, we reserve the right to ask guest or guests to leave before the end of their stay and/or not accept future bookings. In this event, you will not be eligible for any refund.
Our responsibilities
We cannot accept responsibility for events outside of our control that may adversely affect your booking. These include (amongst others) extreme or adverse weather conditions, pandemics, civil unrest, industrial action, terrorist activity, natural disaster, fire, foot and mouth disease.
We will endeavour to manage any problems caused as a result of such an event but shall not be liable to you for any losses caused by such event.
Keeping safe on site
The Wood Stars site is based in a field on a working organic farm, please be alert to all possible dangers and risks.
We cannot accept responsibility for any damage, injury or inconvenience caused by the terrain, plants or wildlife.
The nature of the ground is uneven in places and there are slip and trip hazards so please exercise care and vigilance.
Gravel and timber decking can be slippery, especially when wet, so please take extra care on these surfaces.
There may be livestock in the fields around you so please treat any animals with respect and act calmly around them.
Please accompany children at all times, and take special care near water, which is deep in places and very fast flowing when in flood.
Please leave the site as you found it and take extra care not to leave any litter.
Only light fires and barbeques in the designated firepit areas. Please don’t leave fires unattended and extinguish after use.
Do not leave anything to dry within 2 metres of a woodburner.
Do not leave heat or warm anything on a woodburner.
Ensure the vents on all woodburners are fully closed before leaving them unattended or going to sleep.
Pool and sauna safety
Contrast therapy involving sauna and cold-water immersion has inherent elements of risk. It is important that all users are mindful of:
Slippery and/or uneven surfaces
Exposure to extreme temperatures.
Exposure to hot equipment- do not touch any part of the stove
Change in internal body temperature
Collisions or contact with other people, objects and structures on site
Exposure to airborne illnesses or transmittable diseases
Temperature sensitivity- Sauna temperatures can cause discomfort or adverse reactions for some individuals. It is your responsibility to regulate the duration and intensity of your sauna sessions according to your comfort level.
Fitness:
I agree that all of the following statements are true:
I am physically and mentally fit to participate in the sauna and cold plunge.
I do not have any medical condition/s that affects my ability to sweat.
I do not have any underlying health problems or pre-existing medical condition that effect my ability to participate in the sauna and cold plunge
I am not pregnant or subjecting a foetus to excessive body temperatures that may cause foetal damage during pregnancy.
I am not taking, or under the influence of any drugs, alcohol, medication or other substance/s affecting my mental or physical state.
Sauna Etiquette
Tap water only can be poured slowly over the hot rocks with the consent from other users.
No alcohol to be consumed prior or during sauna use.
No smoking or vaping on site.
Jewellery should be removed to prevent burning.
Sauna sessions should last no more than 15 minutes without breaks.
Before entering the natural pool It is your responsibility to ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to extreme cold temperatures.
Always enter cold water feet first, gradually immersing the body and allowing for acclimatisation. Never jump or dive headfirst as the cold shock response can endanger even the most competent swimmer.
All persons enter the natural pool entirely at their own risk. Dipping must not exceed one minute per degree celsius.
No nudity in any shared sauna or cold plunge sessions, at any time.
Rules for Children
I understand NO children under 7 yrs old are allowed to use the sauna or cold plunge.
I take full responsibility for any child I have booked in and I understand children aged 7-17 years old can only be booked into private sessions and that I must remain with my child at ALL TIMES.
General Safety
I will keep myself and others safe at all times whilst using the sauna and cold plunge.
I am choosing to participate in the sauna and cold plunge at my own risk and I can stop participating at any time, for any reason.
If I see other bathers behaving inappropriately or dangerously, or if I become aware of any risks posed by equipment defects, I will report it to a member of The Wood Stars staff immediately.
Personal Belongings
The Wood Stars is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings left unattended in the sauna facilities.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation and Amendment by You
We will always try our best to accommodate amendments to your booking and minimise the cost of cancellations. Please inform us by email at the earliest opportunity of any cancellation or amendment request.
Unfortunately, all deposits are non-refundable on cancellations.
If you have paid in full and let us know of your cancellation 4 weeks or more before your stay, we will refund the balance less the deposit.
If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as early as possible and we will always attempt to re-let your booking. If successful, we will refund the full balance paid, minus a 10% admin fee and any costs incurred by us.
If you need to make amendments or alterations to your booking, please let us know as early as possible. Any changes will be subject to availability and additional charges may be payable. If we are unable to agree a suitable alteration, we will have to treat it as a cancellation.
Please note that although we will always try to minimise your loss in the event of an alteration or cancellation, we have no obligation to refund any money paid if this occurs 4 weeks or less from your check-in date, and all deposits are non-refundable.
Therefore, we recommend that you take out suitable travel insurance.
Cancellation and Amendment by us
In exceptional circumstances it may be necessary for us to cancel or amend your booking. If this is the case, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and will liaise with you to see if we can re-schedule your booking. If no agreeable alternative date is available, we will refund you in full for any monies paid to us. Unfortunately, we can accept no further liabilities.
Information & Accuracy
The information and prices shown on this website are amended from time to time and may change between the time you first view a property and make a booking.
You should check that all the details are as you expect prior to making a booking. It is always possible that, despite our best efforts, the property (including the features and extras available) may be incorrectly described and/or priced.
If we discover this is the case after you have made a booking, we reserve the right to contact you with details of the correct information and/or pricing and will give you the option to:
(1) proceed with the booking based on the correct information and/or pricing, which may require the payment of an additional amount by you;
OR
(2) subject to availability, change your booking dates to dates when the pricing can be honoured and so no additional charge to you. In the event that a lower price can be offered for alternative dates then the difference would be refunded;
OR
(3) cancel the booking. If we do not receive your instructions within 5 days of contacting you, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without liability to you.
